MCHD Holds Medicare Enrollment Event

The Macon County Health Department hosts a Medicare Open Enrollment Event for Medicare Part D this Fri. 9 to 3 at their Main Conference Room. Medicare Open Enrollment runs through Dec 7.

Grow Decatur holds two Community Updates tomorrow – the first 11:30 to 1 at the Decatur Public Library, the second tomorrow afternoon 5:30 to 6:30 at Hope Academy.

Faries Pkwy. in Decatur, from the north lane of west bound Brush College Rd, east to main gate #2 at ADM, will be closed through Fri. afternoon. Ameren crews are working on an overhead power line.

Monticello H.S. Student Survey

In a recent survey, 81% of Monticello High School students favor building a new high school, 18% want the middle school remodeled into a high school. A special school board session on the issue will be held today at 6:30 at the high school.

Want to Work in Highway Construction?

Richland Community College is teaming up with the IDOT to offer free training to folks interested in working in the highway construction industry. Orientation sessions will be held at RCC Dec. 7 at 9am and 2pm.

For the first time since Champaign County Board districts were revamped in 2012, a Republican will be running in District 11. Barbara Rogers will face Democrat, James Tinsley.

Illinois Unemployment Numbers

Illinois unemployment numbers for Oct. are out – Bloomington had the lowest rate at 4.8%. Danville had the highest at 6.9. Decatur’s rate is 6.8%. The State rate is 5.3.
