What’s Open in Decatur on the 4th

All Decatur Park District golf courses will be open July 4 6am to dark; Scovill Zoo will be open 9:30 to 6 on the holiday; and Overlook Adventure Mini Golf will be open 10 to 10.

New Fiscal Year Begins Tomorrow – Still No State Budget

Illinois lawmakers are optomistic about a deal to keep the state operating without a full budget. The new fiscal year begins tomorrow – without a plan, billions of dollars in patchwork spending will expire.

MU and NFS Hold Signing Ceremony Today

Millikin University and National Foodworks Services host a signing ceremony this afternoon at 1 at NFS. They’ll partner to pursue common economic development goals for greater Decatur.

Road Work in Mt. Zion Next Week

Repairs on West Main St. from Baltimore Ave. to Bell St, and on McGaughey Dr, from State Highway 121 to Burgener Dr, begin next Tues. in Mt. Zion. Traffic will be interrupted and there’s no parking on either street.

Theatre 7’s Dinner Theatre

Theatre 7 in Decatur presents the murder mystery/comedy dinner theatre production of “Dinner at Eight – Dead by Nine.” It’ll be at the Main Hangar Restaurant Fri. July 22, and Sat. July 23.

Home Care Now Available in Logan County

CareLink, a nurse-guided home care service, is now offered in Logan County. CareLink allows folks to remain in the comfort of their own home rather than transitioning into a long term care facility.

Crews Out Mowing in Decatur Today

Crews will be mowing the Brush College Underpass beginning this morning through this afternoon around 2. The northbound lane will be closed – the southbound lane will remain open. Flagmen will be directing traffic.

New Softball Field at MU

Millikin University will begin construction this summer on the Workman Family Softball Field. It’ll feature lights, bleachers, dugouts, and a press box. The field will become the new home to the Big Blue softball program next year.

Decatur Jr. Open Golf Tourney

The Decatur Junior Open Golf Championship will be held July 26 and 27 at Hickory Point Golf Course. Players 12 to 21 will enjoy lunch, a practice round and two tournament rounds.

Crews are Mowing on 22nd St. in Decatur

Crews will be mowing the Garfield Underpass at 22 St. in Decatur today. The outside lanes will be closed this morning until around 2 this afternoon. The inside lanes will remain open.
