The DISC Celebrates National Senior Health and Fitness Day

Today is National Senior Health and Fitness Day. The DISC will hold a free event this morning 8 to 11 featuring health screenings, exercise activities, healthy snacks, and giveaways.

Crews Mowing Along Lakeshore Dr. Today

The outside north and southbound lanes of Lakeshore Dr, from East Cantrell St. to the rear entrance of St. Mary’s Hospital, will be closed in one direction at a time this morning through around 3:30 this afternoon. Crews will be out mowing.

Shots Fired at Market Place Shopping Center in Champaign

Champaign Police are investigating a report of shots fired during an argument at the Market Place Shopping Center. Everyone involved had left the scene by the time officers arrived. No word on if anyone was hit.

Shake the Lake Concert June 9

The Decatur Park District’s first Shake the Lake Concert of the season will be held Fri. evening, June 9, at 7, featuring “Borderline”. The free concert will be in the parking lot west of the Beach House.

Sinkhole Repair on E. Hubbard Ave. in Decatur

Hubbard Ave. in Decatur, between Macon Resources and Rupp Pkwy, will be closed through Tues, June 13. Crews are repairing a sinkhole at 2120 East Hubbard.

Lawmakers Pass Township Road Consolidation Bill

Lawmakers in both the Illinois House and Senate have passed a bill to allow township trustees to initiate referendums to consolidate township road districts in all Illinois Counties. The bill now heads to Gov. Rauner.

Rep Rodney Davis in Decatur Tomorrow

U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis is holding open office hours throughout the district this week, meeting with constituents. He’ll be in Decatur tomorrow afternoon 2:30 to 4 at 243 S. Water St.

Crews Mowing Along Lost Bridge Rd. Today

The eastbound lane of Lost Bridge Rd. in Decatur, from Lake Frontage Rd. to Oak Dr, will be closed this morning – then the westbound lane will be closed through around 2:30 this afternoon. Crews will be out mowing.

Macon County Finance Committee Meets Today

The Macon County Board’s Finance Committee meets this afternoon at 5:15 at 141 South Main St. in Room 514. It’s the Board’s only committee meeting scheduled for this week.

Man Wanted in Huck’s Store Robbery

Decatur Police are looking for the man who robbed the Huck’s Store on North 22nd St. The guy was caught on surveillance video grabbing some cash from the register and running off. The clerk suffered a minor injury.
